Please don't spread baseless rumours which have no facts backing them up like the above. It could be misconstrued as someone trying to artificially manipulate things and trying to get prices to rocket up.

And we wouldn't want that, would we? For what is supposed to be a fun event.

How/why would anyone known that there is only 500 mini pet pigs. That's not even a good rumor, it's just stupid.

If it is true they only provided a few pigs then I think they really owe a lot of us an appology. In order to get those more than 300 futures I had to spend a lot of time running several character through all 6 of the quests, then hanging around la with rock/paper/scissors - and all for what? The fireworks are useless, i'm not interested in the sweet tooth title and I would have had a lot more fun playing the game rather than just sitting around playing rack/paper/scissor - and then on top of it, I wound up buying a pig anyway.

I don't mind if it was just the luck of the draw - hey, that's the way it goes.

But if they intentionally limited the number of pigs AND THEN DIDN'T TELL US OUTRIGHT the led me to waste a lot of my time. I could have just bought one at the start and gone on to do something FUN! This is what would really torque me, not that they limit the number - that's fine - it's their game - but if they didn't tell us the fact - that would upset me very much!!!

As for baseless rumor, I'm not so sure.

You don't see very many pigs running around or people saying "hey I just got a piggy" like they were last night - on the contrary, you see a lot of people saying they are very disappointed because they didn't get one after a rather large number of tries. I would think if people were still getting them today, we would be noticing more of them. It makes me wonder if they simply aren't showing up anymore.

Of course, another possiblity is that people were not supposed to get pigs until the last day and it was the "special prize" meant to be given if the celestial pig liked the feast and that a glitch released them early. In that case, they may not be showing up today because Anet caught the mistake and corrected it. But if that is the casethen Anetshould post somewhere and let us know that.

So the solution is easy - in fact, this is one of the easiest rumors to deal with, if someone got a pig since about 9:00 AM pacific time - please simply post - that would pretty well show it is just a rumor. Otherwise, perhaps it's not so baseless after all. So please - if you got a pig TODAY post and tell us when.

I did all of the Shing Jea quests on all of my characters (except one, who doesn't have access to Cantha), a total of 8 characters. I didn't bother with the Rock, Paper, Scissors guy, however, I didn't get a pig until I did my last character.

i have 5 pve characters and i did all the quests in the monestary..thats about 125 tokens per charatcer and about 40 fortunes per character....so out of about 200 fortunes, ive gotten 3 pigs. sold 2 for 15k and the other for 20k. from doing all the quests and opening all the fortunes i also got about 5k per charcter.

do you really think that they are going to give gold minipets out in district wide bunches?

as for the wiki figures only an idiot would even try to post them and to have anybody take them seriously?........reallyyyy

where are they getting their numbers from?

why would you believe something like that from a source that could not possibly have the raw numbers to work with to get those percents

I have opened about 100 fortunes.....no pig. lots and lots of money and rockets though.
I havent done any quests other than the fire in the sky with my 12 toons (my mules can walk out the exit to the monestary----had the dust on one of them!)....will do the other 4 quests with the 8 reg characters and see if I can get one pig from the loot......still need to get some of those chef items as well (got the icy lodstones from the ice golems outside of yaks yesterday

)....only a few more items to go!

Where are they getting their numbers from? By recording the contents of their lunar fortunes and finding the percentage of the results. Any idiot would understand that...

REMEMBER: rumors in Guild Wars are almost never true unless officially stated.

There is already more than 500 pigs...go to any main town and youll see tons of them walking around.

I opened around 100-150 of the gift thingys and still no piglet, my guildy got 1 on his 17th time of opening. On the other hand I got bunch of gold coins and while doing the festive quests i got a black and white dye drop.

So i guess its just luck.

wiki lists the drop chance for things like chests -they also include the drop rates for fortunes off of their canthan new year posting

as to raw - numbers - yes they have raw numbers - not statistically significant enough to prove anything by themselves since only 19 people have reported in. (however, the fact you did not know that shows you didn't bother checking before accusing - and that, in itself, is the behavior of an idiot)

That's why i said - could be luck of the draw. If I were taking those numbers as absolute truth I would have just said "there are no pigs dropping today." I didn't say that. I said "If"

Neither did I rely on the numbers alone - I was also relying on my ingame experience both with opening fortunes of my own and conversations I was observing.

Again, since I am only 1 player, such a limited experience proves nothing.

THAT IS WHY I ASKED PEOPLE TO POST IF THEY RECEIVED PIGS TODAY!!!

It's called the scientific method.

You observe something (that I had not seen any pigs found today and that my exprience was parallel to that of 19 others on Guild Wiki is an observation)

You postulate a theory (that the lack of pigs might be because there was a limited supply or was a glitch of some kind that has now been fixed)

And then you look for a way to prove or disprove it - in this case, people finding pigs today would disprove that there was a limited supply or that there was a glitch (Sprites, Curse, and Dutch -did you find those pigs today or last night - you did not specify)

Having done all that you now either have a theory which is viable (notice, I said "viable", not proven - in which case i am upset with Anet)

Or the theory is disproven (in which case i paid my money and took my chances and that is why it is called a game)
